(A/N: It can get a bit gory so bear with it. But don't worry, It's not too bad.)

"Heichou~” you said, flopping onto the nearby couch. “How come I'm the only one who ever has to clean your office?"

"Because I said so. And you need to learn how to clean properly, so I'm keeping an eye on you." Though, he wasn’t even looking at you since he was finishing up some paperwork.

"What? I know how to clean! If anyone doesn't know how to clean, it's Sasha!"

"Hmp. Well I don't want her eating any of my things when I'm not looking. So get your ass back to work."

You let out a heavy sigh as you followed his orders, reluctantly getting up to wipe down the windows in circle formation as you'd been taught by Levi himself. Said man now stared at your working figure, fatigue becoming more and more obvious with each stroke. And though he just wanted to take you in his arms and stop time forever, he knew he couldn't. For you wouldn't even bat an eyelash at him. Or so he thought.

Day after day you were assigned to clean Levi's office from top to bottom. And while most would have dreaded the thought of even being in the same room as Levi, let alone being judged by him for you cleaning, you came to his office with glee. Slowly, you grew closer to Levi during the time you spent in his office sharing meaningless thoughts that would sometimes lead to deep, heartfelt conversations. And if God had blessed you on a certain day you may have been able to see Levi's subtle smile. It may have been an amused smirk, but it made you heart soar nonetheless.

"Heichou. Do you have to stare at me like that every time I'm in here?"

"Stare at you like what?"

"Like you're peering into my soul."

"Don't be a fool cadet. I'm using my X-ray vision to see through your clothes."

You flushed and quickly tried to cover yourself. "W-what?"

He chuckled a bit, setting your heart on fire. "You're too gullible cadet. There's no way I'd have X-ray vision. Besides, if I did I definitely wouldn't tell you. At least not until I've finished 'examining' you." You attempted to hide yourself from his gaze as you let out a small groan.

"Heichou... You're such a pervert..."

"I'm a healthy man talking to an attractive woman. I can't help myself." You blushed harder, now unable to look him in the eye. "All I said was that you were attractive. You're still an idiot cadet who doesn't even know how to clean properly. Don't get the wrong idea."

Your eye twitched. "Gee. Thanks... Well if you're done insulting me I'll take my leave." You turned towards the door.

"Wait a minute. The expedition tomorrow. Whose team are you on?"

"Um... Mike’s, sir..."

"What? Why? I thought I told you I wanted you on my team."

"Well I wanted to, but then Erwin assigned me to Mike’s team... I can't exactly say no to him."

'Tch. Damn Erwin trying to keep you away from me,' Levi thought to himself. "Alright, fine. Just try not to die. You still have a lot to learn about cleaning before I let you off the hook."

"Of course. That's the reason..." You said under your breath.

"What was that?"

"N-nothing sir! Well I'll see you tomorrow I guess. Goodnight!" Supplies in hand, you left the room and hurried to your bed, eager to dream of your beloved Corporal.

~~~
The day’s expedition had almost ended and Levi was leading his team back home. Home, where he could see you again and have all his worries wiped away. Where he could have you to himself, even if it was just for a little time.
“Levi Heichou! There’s bad news!” Petra called from her horse as she caught up to him.
“What’s wrong? What happened?”
“It’s Mike’s team! They were ambushed by some bandits in the forest when they were heading back! And they took (first)!”
“What?! Petra, when did they get attacked?”
“About 30 minutes ago. But Levi, they armed-!” Before she could finish, Levi had already sped out of sight.
~~~

“Great thinking chief. It was brilliant to ambush those idiot soldiers when they were tired from fighting.”

“Hmp. Of course it was brilliant. I only have the best ideas. And I even got us a little prize in the process,” the man said as he slid his finger along your jaw line to you lips. You tried to bite him but he pulled away too quickly. “Oh, feisty now, are we? Well, don’t worry. We’ll be sure to get rid of that fighting spirit.”

“Hehehe. We’ll definitely take care of that,” another man said as he sharpened his knife.

“Just make sure you don’t cut too deep. We can’t sell damaged goods.”

~~~
After hours of looking around the maze of trees, Levi had finally found the cottage where you were held captive. Night had fallen, and only the dim candle lights from the inside illuminated the pitch black forest. Levi kicked down the door and was immediately filled with rage.
There you stood, hands tied up above your head against the wall behind you. You wore nothing but your bra and underwear, making it easier to see the obvious torture they had put you through. Tiny, shallow cuts covered your thin, shivering torso as blood seeped through them. Your legs trembled, barely able to hold you up.
“Levi,” you mumbled in a broken voice. “Please... Help...”
Levi grit his teeth, almost going insane with anger. In an instant, Levi had swept through the room and killed everyone in sight, all but you. He stepped in the puddles of blood as walked over to you. Rope now cut, you fell into Levi’s arms and wept from the pain and fear of what had happened. Levi held you tight as you clung to his protective figure.
“Shh. It’s alright. You don’t have to be afraid. No one can hurt you anymore.”
“Levi... Thank you.”
“Save your energy. Let’s get you back home.” He picked up your fragile body and mounted his horse, determined to get you home safely.
~~~

You woke up the next morning from a stinging pain all over. Your eyes shot open and as you tried to get up you heard clanging. Your wrists and ankles were chained to the wall. The bedroom door creaked open. You braced for an attack.

“L-Levi?”

“Oh.” He said, walking in with a bowl of soup after locking the door behind him. “How are you feeling?”

“Um. Much better. Why am I being chained up? I thought you killed the men from before?”

“I did.” He sat down on the bed next to you and put the soup on the night stand. “The chains are to keep you from running away.”

You eyed him suspiciously. “W-what do you mean run away? I can’t leave?”

“No. You can never leave. I don’t want you getting hurt again.” Levi picked up the soup and began feeding you. “Now say ‘ah’.”

You pushed the spoon out of the way. “Levi. Take these chains off right now.”

He sighed. “(first). I really don’t want to do this with you. Just be a good girl and eat your soup.”

“No! Levi, you’re freaking me out. Please, just take these damn things off.”

He put the soup down. “I can’t.”

“But why?”

“Because if I let you go outside, who knows what would happen to you?! What if you get kidnapped again?! I couldn’t live with myself if anything ever happened to you.”

“Levi, I’m not going to get hurt. So please, unchain me?”

“I said no.”

“Levi, please.” You touched his hand.

“I said no!” He forcefully pulled his hand back, violently pushing you back down on the bed. “Why can’t you just listen to me for once?! I’m trying to protect you but you won’t let me!” He squeezed your sides tight, landing on one of your wounds that hadn’t fully healed, making you bleed. “Why aren’t you happy being with just me?!”

“Ah! Levi, please! It hurts!”

He held you tighter. “Why won’t you just love me?!”

“Levi!” Tears began forming in your eyes. “Please! Stop! You’re scaring me!”

Finally realizing the pain he’d been inflicting, Levi quickly pulled away, ashamed of how he hurt you. “I-I’m sorry... I lost my cool...” He rummaged through the nightstand drawer and pulled out some bandages. “Come here. Let me treat you,” he said as he reached out to you. You only moved away, fear evident in your eyes. “(first), please. I don’t want to be the bad guy here. I just want keep you safe.”

“You what? You’re keeping me chained up against my will! How can you not be the bad guy?!” You asked hysterically. “And where are we anyways?!”

“We’re in a small cabin in the outskirts of the city. So don’t bother screaming. No one will hear you.”

“Levi, please. You can’t just keep me in here forever. People will start to wonder where I am!”

“No. They won’t.”

“W-why?”

“Because, no one knows you came back from the cottage. Everyone thinks you’re dead, (first). So now I can have you all to myself,” Levi said as he tried to cup your cheeks. You dodged his advancement, chains crashing with every minute movement. He stood up and grunted. “Fine. Be that way. But soon, you’ll give in and you’ll appreciate what I’m doing for you (first).” He walked to the door and unlocked it.

“Just remember. I’m doing this because I love you.”

~~~
Somehow, you had manage to endure the pain and slept another night as a hostage. Waking up, you found yourself still chained to the wall. Judging from the dim light peeking through the barred windows and the sound of only a few birds chirping, you assumed it was very early in the morning. Your stomach growled as you sat up and you finally remembered your beloved captor. Was Levi still here? If he was, was he asleep? Would you be able to make it out if he were? No, you knew it was impossible. Even if you were to get out of your chains, you’d never make it past him, especially in your current condition. Too enveloped in your thoughts, you didn’t hear the door open.
“Good morning (first). I brought you some food and tea,” he said, caring in a tray of bacon, eggs, and toast. “I hope you’ll cooperate and eat your food this time.”
“I don’t want it.”
Levi sighed, disappointed. “(first). You haven’t eaten in almost two days. You have to eat something.”
“I’ll eat once you let me out of these chains!”
“I already told you. I can’t let you go.” He grabbed a piece of toast and attempted to feed you. “Now eat already.”
“I-I said no!” You swatted at his arm. “I’m not going to eat anything you give me! How do I know you didn’t poison it?!”
“What? (first), I would never hurt you like that.”
“Well you’re hurting me right now by not letting me go home. I miss my friends and the townspeople. Hell, I even miss fighting those damned Titans! I just don’t want to be a bird trapped in a cage...”
He reached out and patted your head, and for a bit you leaned in to it, yearning for some warmth, some sense of familiarity. But you soon realized your mistake and pulled away. You looked at him with your eyes filled with anger, love, disappointment, and confusion all at the same time. Was he able to see it? Could he really comprehend your desire to be free after your enslavement the night before and the lifetime of hell you suffered through in the underground city? Surely the man who claimed to love you would at least try to understand, right?
“...(first),” a faint voice called out. “(first), listen to me.” Levi had you wrapped in his arms. Your deteriorated strength was of no help getting you free. “(first), I’m sorry you feel that way. But I keep telling you, this is for your own good. So please don’t fight it anymore. Now eat your breakfast.”
“I already said no.”
“(first),” he said in a stern voice, “this is your last chance. Now, eat.”
“I said no.”
In an instant, Levi had pinned you down and was attempting to pry your jaws open. “I said eat it!” You tossed and turned, but no amount of fighting could free you from your chains. He shoved the triangular piece of bread into your mouth and forced it shut, preventing you from spitting it back up. Levi let go when you began coughing nonstop. “I wouldn’t have had to hurt you if you had just listened to me...” He stood up and walked to the door. “Anyways, I have to go to the camp for work. I left you more food on the tray so try to make it last until I get back to give you dinner.” Just before shutting the door, Levi peaked through to deliver a final message.
“And if you know what’s good for you, don’t try escaping.”
~~~

Some hours had passed since Levi left. You had spent most of your time pulling at the chains and devising an escape plan, only to end up in tears after every thought of your freedom that was just out of reach. Suddenly, you heard a voice slowly getting louder. Worried that Levi was coming back, you peaked through the window, only to find a civilian walking through the forest instead.

“Hey you! Over here!” You stretched your arms out between the bars as far as your chains would let you. “Please! Help me!”

The man seemed to have noticed and ran over to your window. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m being held captive! Please, help me!”

“O-okay!” The man went around the cabin and found his way to your prison. He gawked at the site of your unending chains. “W-what happened...?”

“It doesn’t matter what happened! Just get me out of here before Levi comes back!”

“Levi? You mean Levi Ackerman? I’m sure he could get you out and find whoever did this to you! Why wouldn’t you want him here?”

“Because he-!”

“Who the hell are you?!” The booming voice sent chills down your spine.

The man turned around and was ironically filled with hope. “Lance Corporal Levi! Quick, come help us! This girl’s been-!” Silence filled the room as only the faint sound of blood trickling down the man’s body could be heard. A couple seconds later, he dropped to the floor, and Levi’s bloodied sword could be seen.

Levi stepped over the man and walked towards to you and grabbed your chin, making you face him. “Who the hell is this guy?! How did he know you were here?! Is he your boyfriend or something?!”

“No! No! He’s a stranger!” you yelled through your sobbing. “He was just trying to help me! Levi, you killed an innocent man!”

“No, I didn’t...” Levi soon let go of your chin and turned around. The man on the floor had been crawling away towards the door, trying to escape. Levi walked over to him and flipped him over, then slit his throat with his blade. “Now I killed him.” He began walking back to you. “Besides, he wasn’t an innocent man. He was trying to take you away from me. Anyone who tries to separate us is pure evil...”

“But...” you sobbed. “He didn’t do anything! I’m the one who called him over here! Why did you have to kill him?!”

“Well then, his blood is on your hands. If you don’t want anyone else to get hurt, don’t ever try to escape.” Levi pushed you onto the bed and pinned you down. “I told you not to, and you disobeyed me. Now you have to be punished...” He smashed his lips into yours, igniting a fiery kiss. You couldn’t budge due to Levi’s weight on your fragile body, so you began crying more.

Levi let up and stared down at you, concerned and upset, yet angry. “Why are you crying?”

“Levi... Please, just stop,” you said, sobbing heavily. “Please, just let me go and I won’t tell anyone, I promise...”

“I told you, I can’t do that. I want to keep you safe in here. With me.”

“You’re worse than those men...”

“What...? What do you mean I’m worse than them? I’m trying to keep you safe from men like them!” He gripped your wrists tighter. “This wouldn’t have had to happen if you had just loved me from the beginning! Why won’t you just love me?!”

“You’re worse than those men because I already did love you, Levi! ...But now I’m so scared of you I can’t feel anything else but fear...”

“Y-you love me...?” Levi let go of your wrists and slid off of you. “You really mean that?” You covered your wet, red eyes, nodding. “I never realized... (first) I’m so sorry.” He pulled you into a tight embrace to which you melted into. “I never meant to hurt you like this.”

“So... Will you let me go?”

He sighed. “I can’t. Now that I know how you feel you’re even more precious. I can’t have anyone stealing you away from me. You said you love me. Don’t you not want to be away from me?”

“Even if I do that doesn’t mean I want you to take away my freedom! I thought we understood each other. Didn’t you say you hated feeling like a trapped in the underground city?”

“Yes, but this is different. I’m keeping you here for your sake. You don’t know the kind of sick people that are out in the world (first). They’ll try to hurt you, or kill you, or worse... I don’t want you to have to go through that sort of pain. And if that means you end up hating me in the process then so be it. I’ll do anything for you,” he said, trying to cup your cheeks. You moved away and pulled the bed sheets over your head. Levi sighed, getting up and closing the door behind him as he left the room.

“I’ll always love you (first)...”

~~~
A couple of weeks had gone by and life with Levi had become pretty normal. You finally listen to what he said and stopped trying to escape. The two of you would eat together and talk sometimes like you had before everything happened. There was no fear in your eyes whenever he came close, and if you were really good, he'd let you go outside the cabin to play or pick food under his supervision.
Finally lunch time came around and Levi brought your favorite curry rice. You immediately sat up, ready to devour your delicious meal, but when he set the tray in your lap, you noticed something peculiar. The curry had broccoli. Too impatient to pick them all out one by one, you began your meal, slowly eating around all the bits of broccoli. Soon, your plate was bare of everything but curry topped broccoli and a few grains of rice.
“Aren’t you forgetting something?”
You stared at him blankly. “No. Am I forgetting something?”
“You didn’t eat your broccoli again. How many times do I have to tell you, you have to clean your plate?”
“But... Levi you know I hate broccoli! I just can’t eat them!” You pushed the plate away from you.
“At all?”
“Mhm,” you said, nodding innocently.
“Even if that meant you could go outside?”
Your face lit up. “Really?! You really mean it, Levi?!” You took his arm and started shaking him, your chains still clanking.
“Of course I do. Now eat your vegetables so we can go.”
“Oh, thank you, thank you Levi!” You hugged him tight, then proceeded to gobble down the food as quickly as you could.
~~~

“Alright. You’ve got your basket, right?”

“Yes, Levi.”

“And you remember the rules?”

“Don’t try to escape and stay in your line of sight or I won’t get to come outside~”

“Good. Now go pick some berries. I’ll give you 10 minutes,” he said while ruffling your (h/l), (h/c) hair.

“Okay!” You turned around, basket in hand, and ran as fast as your chains would let you towards a strawberry bush you had found on a previous outing.

You quickly picked the strawberries, along with some nearby herbs, and started walking back to the cabin. On your way back, you heard faint talking coming from behind you. Thinking it was Levi, you walked towards the source of the sound but immediately stopped when you saw who it was. You ran back towards the cabin, but not before meeting eyes with him.

“Hey you! Wait a second!” He started chasing after you. “Please, just wait!” You continued running without looking back. “(first)!”

You stopped. The sound of that familiar voice calling your name was too much to bear. You turned around. “Eren.”

“(first). You’re alive!”

“Y-yeah, I am,” you said, looking down at the ground.

“Well, why haven’t you come back since then? We all thought you were dead!” You could see the pain in Eren’s turquoise eyes.

“I just wanted to be alone... I’ve been spending a lot of time with Levi and-”

“With Levi? But he said you were dead. Why would he lie about that? We held a funeral for you! Don’t you know how much I- We missed you?”

“Because-! He knew I wanted to be alone... So if no one knew I was here, they wouldn’t try to bother me...”

“Well now I know. Come on, we’ve gotta go tell everybody!” Eren grabbed your hand and pulled you forwards.

“No Eren, wait-!” The force of being pulled made the chains sound. Eren’s eyes were drawn to your feet.

“(f-first). Why are you wearing chains?”

“Oh, these are just-”

“(first), I thought I told you 10 minutes- Jeager? What the hell are you doing here? (first) why are you with him?”

“I was just telling him how in love we are, right Eren?” You looked at Eren, your eyes begging him to agree.

“Y-yeah... I was just scouting out the region. Some guy went missing in this area and we have no leads yet...”

“Hmp,” Levi said. “Well, get back to work. We don’t have time to play with you.” Levi grabbed your arm to leave, but you wouldn’t move. Eren held your other hand. “Get your grimy hands off of (first), Jeager.”

“Excuse me, sir. But can I ask why you’ve been keeping (first) here all by yourself? You’re not keeping her hostage, are you?”

“Why you little-!”

You went behind Levi and held him back. “Eren, run!”

“W-what-”

“Just run! Hurry! He’s going to kill you!” Since you had been eating properly before, you finally gained enough strength to hold Levi back until Eren got away. Soon, you were on the floor with Levi towering over you.

“What the hell are you doing?! Why did you let him get away?!”

“Because you would have killed him if I didn’t!”

“You... You love him, don’t you?!”

“No! No, Levi I-!”

“Shut up!” He kicked the basket of berries you’d dropped at you. “Now he’s going to bring back up... Damn Titan-shifter... I should have killed him when he first started talking to you. No matter, I’ll just kill him when he comes back.”

“No, you can’t!”

“Tch.” Levi picked you up by your shirt collar and pushed you against a tree. “This is all your fault. If you had just listened to what I said, I wouldn’t have to get rid of him. You’re the one who’s killing everybody, (first). Not me.” Soon, you had been thrown over Levi’s shoulder and were now being hauled into your bedroom. Levi chained you up to your barred window and left the room, ready to annihilate anyone who tried to get in between your “love”.

“What a fool you are, Jeager. You think you can beat me with only your two lackeys backing you up?”

“Yes, I do. And we will.”

From the outside you heard grunts and swords colliding. Silence followed. You waited anxiously for someone to come back. Suddenly, the door slowly started creaking open.

“Eren! You’re alive! ...But then that means...”

“Yes. I killed Levi...”

“Oh... Well, where are Mikasa and Armin?”

“They’re dead.”

You froze. “W-what? What do you mean they’re dead?”

“Once Levi and Mikasa fought to their deaths, all I had to do was finish off Armin.”

“Don’t joke like that... Unchain me. I have to go see them!”

“I can’t do that, (first).”

“Eren, this isn’t funny. Hurry up and get me out of this crap.”

He sighed and knelt by the bed you sat on. “I told you I can’t. But don’t worry. I’ve learned from Levi’s mistakes.”

“What do you mean by that...?”

“I mean that I won’t let you go out like he did.” Eren slowly lifted his hand and patted your head. “That way, I won’t ever have to worry about people like him trying to take you away from me...”

He then pulled you into a strong embrace and whispered in your ear. “Now, you won’t ever have to be in any pain... Ever again...”

Didn't you love that plot twist at the end? :bademoticon:   It just popped into my head when I was writing a different ending (where everyone dies but then I thought of this and just thought why not? lol)
