No More Kittens (Kozume Kenma x Reader) [One-Shot]

"Jeez~ Did you buy the whole store when you went in?"

"No, just the snack section." You stared blankly until you busted out into a fit of laughter as you walked hand in hand with your blond boyfriend. Though he didn't look all too funny, Kenma always managed to make you laugh daily, whether it was from a joke or just from him acting cute. Nothing pleased him more than seeing a smile grace your soft lips.

"Oh, Kenma. You're so funny~" You cling onto his free arm, making him blush and look away. You hummed happily and marched along your path until you heard a crashing noise. "What was that?"

"I think it came from over there," he said, pointing to a tree with a fallen branch at its roots.

Curious as to why the branch had fallen, you approached the tree cautiously and found a small creature lodged in its wooden arms. "Kenma, there's a kitten stuck in this tree!" The tiny feline's desperate cries resonated in your tiny heart. "How are we gonna rescue it?"

"Well, I could climb into the tree."

"Okay. Just be careful!" The golden eyed boy nodded and scaled the bark covered plant, mounting himself at the base of its large branch.

"Here, kitty, kitty. Don't be scared." The miniature lion withdrew from Kenna's outstretched hands. It was fight or flight for the frightened animal, and lucky for Kenma, he chose flight. Literally.

"Ah! I got him!" You stretched your thin arms and caught the infant cat before he met the hard ground. "Yosh, yosh. Good kitty~" You stroked the tiny kitten's head with your pointer finger as he cuddled up to you. He soon began licking your hand, the feeling of his rough tongue on your skin making you giggle. "I think he might be hungry."

"Sorry, but I didn't buy any cat food at the store, (last)-san."

You squinted at your unusually sarcastic boyfriend, then sat down with the kitten still in your arms. "Give me your yakisoba-pan."

"What? I was gonna eat that at home later..."

"I'll buy you another one tomorrow. I just wanna give him a piece of the bread before we leave." You looked up at him with your big (e/c) eyes. To him, you were cuter than any kitten he could have rescued, and he loved you more than he disliked this certain cat. "Please~?"

"Alright, fine..." Giving in completely, Kenma sat beside you and handed over his beloved snack.

You flashed your now depressed boyfriend a bright smile and unwrapped the plastic packaging. "Say 'ah'~" you instructed. It willingly followed your directions and ate the small piece of bread in your hands, showing its gratitude by cuddling up to your hand. You giggled and petted its head again. "Good kitty~"

"Meow~" he cried in a high pitched voice.

"Aw! Kenma did you hear him?! He meowed~! He's so cute!" You swooned as you brought your face closer and rubbed your nose to his.

Kenma, on the other hand, simply ignored the cute kitten’s whines, playing with the tufts of tall grass beside him since he was a little more than irked that he now had to share your attention with something that wasn't even human. He mumbled something inaudible under his breath, but you didn't even notice, too busy playing with your new feline companion. You waved a few blades of grass in front of the cat and made swooshing noises, making him paw at it with all his might.

"You know, he kinda reminds me of Kuroo-senpai."

"Kuroo? How?"

"Well, he's so playful and he looks pretty mischievous. Not to mention he's a black cat."

"Well, I don't think he's anything like him..." Kenma watched you play with the young cheetah, completely ignoring him. "... C-can we go now?"

"Aw, already~? Do you think I should take him home and keep him as a pet? Look how cute he is!"

The amber eyes setter dropped his gaze and frowned. The cat in your arms was snuggling up to you, squishing and kneading your chest with his tiny paws. There was no way he was going to let kitty KUROO touch his girlfriend's chest before he did.

Without warning, Kenma had grabbed the feline from your arms and ripped him away.

"Meow! Hiss!"

"Ow!"

You watched your injured boyfriend rub his scratched hand. The young cat scampered away as you questioned him. "Kenma, what the heck are you doing?!"

In a flash, you were laying on your back with Kenma on top on of you. He wrapped his arms around you tight as he nuzzled closer, burying his face in your chest. "Mine..."

You stared at him for a second before bursting out with laughter. If there was anything cuter than a kitten, it was definitely a jealous Kenma. You stroked his golden hair lovingly and planted a kiss atop his head. "You're so adorable, Kenma~"

Your snugly boyfriend blushed at your comment and cuddled closer. "No more kittens... Only play with me..."
